Biography
Ana de Medeiros
Ana Maria Moura Goulart de Medeiros was born in Portugal and grew up in an artistic interested family background in contact with well-known Portuguese painters such as José Escada, in Lisbon or
Sidónio in Faro. She is painting for over 40 years now, lives and works in Germany for 35 years.
During the years her style developed through an impressionistic period and a long phase of abstract figurative painting towards pure abstraction wherein she has finally found her strongest form of expression.
In her current paintings, she develops a game between the second and third dimension. By using different materials like structure paste or sometimes partially torn double coated canvases a second haptic layer emerges besides the sheer optical experience.
